Describe the installation

Tell us whether this is a new website, a replacement for an existing site, or a move from another platform. Include any requirements for a theme, essential plugins or an existing content import. A fresh installation and a migration have different preparation and verification steps.

Prepare for the work

  • Confirm who controls the hosting account and domain settings.
  • Identify any existing files, databases and email services that must be preserved.
  • Keep a restorable backup before changing a working website.
  • Agree on the public website address and how visitors should reach it.

Do not send passwords or payment information in the initial enquiry. Access arrangements should be agreed separately for the specific work.

Check the finished site

An installation is more than a dashboard that opens. Check the public pages, HTTPS, login, media uploads and any forms or other features included in the agreed scope. If the website replaces an existing one, verify its important URLs and redirects before changing traffic routing.
