You most likely have an email account that is linked to multiple accounts. In those various accounts, security must be considered. You should ensure you are safe and your credentials are kept discreet. However, it is sad how most people use a single password for all their accounts. It is such a terrible idea. But with a password manager, you do not have to worry about creating strong passwords and remembering them.

What is a Password Manager?

A password manager is a software that stores passwords for you. It can generate a strong password for you. With this tool, you do not have to struggle with developing and remembering passwords; it does it for you. They can also synchronize all your passwords, which makes it for you to log on whenever you feel like.

The Different Types of Password Managers

1. Built-in Password Managers

Did you know you could be using a password manager without your knowledge? Well, most password managers are built into the major browsers. Some are part of the operating systems of your tablets, phones, and iPad. In most cases, you will see a prompt asking you if the system could save or remember your password. Then, if you tick, you will not need to fill out your password whenever logging on to your account. But this should only be applied to the devices that you own or say you are the only user.

2. Standalone Password Manager

There are standalone password apps that can be downloaded from the web. They can be installed on various devices including your computer, smartphone, etc. they all come with great features for creating passwords for you and the ability to recall them for you. You can get various online reviews about such password managers. Please read them before you could settle on any of the available versions.

How Do You Secure Your Password Manager?

See, your password manager must be protected because if anyone gains access to it, they can get details of all your accounts. Some steps should be taken to secure it. Here are the most important steps;

  • Put up a 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) on your password manager. This acts as a backup plan to access your password manager account. This makes it hard for anyone even to access your password manager account.
  • Make sure you install updates as soon as you are prompted to do so by the system. This goes a long way in making sure you are using the latest version of the app.
  • Develop a very strong password for your password manager. And since it cannot be stored in the password manager itself, you may have to store it somewhere else. However, most inbuilt apps are protected by one of your accounts on that device.

Conclusion

A password manager is all you need to keep your passwords safe. Do not wait until the worse befalls you sop that you can get a password manager. Get it now, and you will not struggle with creating strong passwords or even storing them.

Your WordPress security is only as good as your WordPress password is.
If you have a simple password, it means you have a simple site to hack.

A few basics of WordPress password security are:

    1. Include numbers, capitals, special characters (@, #, *, etc.)
    2. Have a lengthy password (10 -50 characters)
    3. Include spaces
4, Avoid using the same password in multiple places
    5. Change passwords after every 1 or 2 months

Nice post! so clear and to the point .
