I love WordPress! Personally I think it is dominating as the standard in website design and CMS solutions. But……..Using wordpress as an eCommerce platform has many advantages as you have listed above but I think if your going to get into the hundreds or thousands of items your better off using something like Magento.

Nur, you are right. However we should admit that large projects may overload your server because of the complicated SQL-queries.

@Baloot, you are absolutely right, there are other lots of eCommerce software but the WordPress is the most easiest one
